Abstract:
Beroe ovata впервые отмечен у побережья Северного Кавказа в августе 1997 г. Численность его была значительна, в то время как популяция другого гребневика - Mnemiopsis leidyi -была заметно угнетена. В настоящей работе рассмотрены изменения плотности популяции и среднего размера тела В. ovata в связи с выеданием им пищи - мнемиопсиса - с 1997 по 2000 гг. Beroe ovata was detected for the first time in near shore waters of the northeastern Black Sea in August 1997. Its density was significant and the population of its prey - Mnemiopsis - was considerable decreased. Changes of population density and mean body size of Beroe ovata in relation to feeding out Mnemiopsis leidyi population by the predator are discussed.
